Relaxation is vital to overall health. Here’s why a visit to our Spa on the Lower North Shore can improve your health

The ability to truly relax – take a load off and ease our bodies and minds – is something that has become more difficult to accomplish amongst the quick pace of the age of technology. We are expected to be fully plugged in and reachable, at all hours of the day and all days of the week. We must switch out of relax mode, and in to work mode, on the drop of a dime.

This has had profound impacts upon our mental health. The lack of true disconnectedness has meant that we have wildly hiked our hours under the pump, while the smartphone revolution has meant we cannot, or choose not to, switch off. We are becoming an instant-on population, and the health impacts have become noticeable.

Prescriptions for anti-anxiety drugs have spiralled skyward. Stress-related injuries and illnesses have become commonplace, even a badge of honour for the workaholic. The impacts of this constant stress are varied, and include:

  • Ulcers
  • Lowered immune response
  • Weight gain
  • Binge eating and drinking
  • Less energy
  • A loss of virility
  • Decreased fertility

Luckily, we have a natural cure-all for the urban grinder: Shambala Day Spa, on the Lower North Shore. An afternoon among this leafy coastal enclave, and you will be able to find a spot in yourself that says ‘this time is being spent on me, and no one else’. You can take a break from your schedule and working life, to pamper yourself, and return refreshed and ready to go.

There are some serious mental gains to be had by taking a breather from the quick pace of reality, and at Shambala Day Spa, we specialise in creating an environment that works towards that. Contact our Lower North Shore spa for some relaxation today!

Ultraceuticals Microdermabrasion treatment for new skin

If you have spent much time on building sites or doing DIY home repair, you know the impact that the elements can have on any surface. Sun, rain, wind, and heat extremes can dull the exterior of a surface, giving it an aged and dull look. These effects requires us to renew the surfacing of these materials, removing the worn exterior, and reviving the surface.

medi-facial FAQ’s

medi-facial FAQ’s

How many treatments will it take to see the “best results”?
Some people see improvement following just one treatment, but a course of 4 to 6 treatments over 3 months is required for longer lasting results. We also recommend periodic treatments to maintain the rejuvenated appearance of the skin.

Why is the skin consultation mandatory?
The skin consultation allows us to tailor your treatments and home care products to your skin’s requirements and your goals. It provides us with an in-depth, documented analysis so we can monitor your skin’s progression.

Why do I need to buy the prescribed home care products? I already have a home care routine!
The medi-facial treatments and the products only work effectively when combined correctly. Your best results will only be achieved with daily home- care using the prescribed home care products.

I am Pregnant. Can I receive a medi-facial?
Some medi-facials are not recommended when pregnant. During your consultation your therapist can recommend the appropriate treatment plan.

Is there anything I need to do to prepare for my medi-facial treatments?
Discontinue the use of prescribed exfoliants (such as Retin-A and Renova) at least 48 hours prior to a peel treatment. We also advise to avoid facial waxing, laser and prolonged sun exposure 5 days prior to your facial.

What is Ultra Sonoinfusion?
Sonoinfusion is a delivery method which employs low frequency ultrasonic vibrations to significantly improve  the  rate  of  absorption of  antioxidant-vitamins, moisturisers and skin softeners.
